Suhum, May 20, GNA - Three cashiers of Mumuadu Rural Bank at Suhum
have been arrested by the Suhum Police on suspicion of stealing large sums of
money from the bank.
Police say the exact sum of money stolen will be determined after an internal
audit currently taking place had been completed.
The names of the suspects were given as Michael Nti-Gyakari 28, Paul
Mensah 28 and Frank Darkwa 34.
Police sources had it that the theft took place between May 14 and 15.
Sources close to the bank alleged that at least GHC 27,553 have been stolen
by the three cashiers.
The sources said customers were still sending their pass books for
verification and the amount stolen could be far higher than it was suspected.
