President John Evans Atta Mills has appointed 11 people as members of the Council of State. This is in line with Article 89(2) (d) of the 1992 Constitution.
A statement issued by Mahama Ayarigah, Presidential Spokesperson, named the appointees as Mrs. Victoria Addy, Mrs. Cecilia Johnson, Prof. Akilakpa Sawyerr, Prof. Kofi Awoonor, Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, and Alhaji Asoma Banda.
The rest are Hajara Musa Ali, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, Nana Akuako Sarpong, Otumfuo Badu Bonsu XV, and Rev. Nii Amo Darko.
