The management of Ghana Cocoa Board has named five institutions as the ones responsible for purchasing coffee in Ghana.

The companies are De jong Ltd, K. I. (GH) Ltd., (Kassadjan Industries) Lonto Ltd., Mamita coffee product Ltd, and Time Marketing Co. Ltd.

A release signed by the Public Affairs Department of the Board said it had been informed that some companies which have not been licensed by the board to purchase coffee are engaged in the purchasing of coffee.

The Board has therefore advised the general public to recognise only the already mentioned companies. It further advised that only Ghana Cocoa Board has the mandate to regulate the coffee industry and not any other institution.

"All companies which are interested in buying coffee but do not have licence should apply for one from Ghana Cocoa Board Cocobod will institute legal action against companies found to be engaged in the purchase of coffee without licence,' it added.
