Nkoranza chief appeals for more fertilizer coupons

Nana Krobea Asante Sarpong, chief of Bonte in the Nkoranza North District, has appealed to the government to allocate more fertilizer coupons to maize farmers in Nkoranza as the town is the leading producer of maize in the country in order to meet the high demand of such coupons by farmers in the district.

Nana Krobea Asante Sarpong told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that in spite of the fact that the Agriculture Extension Officers in the area have been supplying fertilizer coupons to the farmers, a greater number of them still need more.

He complained that farmer queue at the offices of the extension farmers for quite a long time yet not all of them receive the coupons.

Nana Krobea Asante Sarpong said the introduction of the coupons had encouraged farmers to expand their farms and appealed to the government to allocate more of the coupons to Nkoranza farmers.
