The 20th Annual Ghana Seniors Amateur Open Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, October 4
and ends on Sunday, October 5.
Mr. John Wattenburg, Secretary of the Ghana Golf Association who announced this at Tema on Tuesday, said the two-day 36-Hole Medal Play event, opened to senior golfers aged 55 years and above was being sponsored by Ghana Oil Company Limited.
He said about 100 golfers are expected to participate in the event, which shall be played under the rules of the Ghana Golf Association.
Mr Wattenburg said there would also be a Handicap Competition reserve for the age group of 50 to 54 years.
He named some of the players expected to participate in the competition as Kwabena Boakye, K.A. Ohemeng, J.E.K. Moses, F.O. Donkor, I.N.K. Asempa and Paul Owusu-Baah.
Five prizes would be awarded in the Men's category while three would be given in the Ladies event.
Mr Dua Agyemang, Managing Director of Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) is the Guest of Honour.
