Muslims To Begin Fast For Ramadan On Sunday August 31

The National Hilal Committee on Saturday informed the entire Muslim Ummah of Ghana that the moon of Ramadan has been sighted at Aboasu Nkwanta at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Sheikh Yunus Usman Muhammad, Acting Chairman of the Committee said this has been confirmed by the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam.

It said the moon was also sighted at Garu in Upper East Region and Kwame Danso in Brong Ahafo Region.

The statement said 'the National Chief Imam and Ameer and Missionary in-charge of Ahmadiyyah Muslim Mission in Ghana wished to inform Muslims in Ghana and the public to start the fast of Ramadan on Sunday, August 31.'

'We wish all Muslims a happy and blessed fasting,' it added.
