The former press secretary to President Kufuor, Mr. Kwabena Agyepong says former president Rawlings has no moral right to talk on the issues he spoke on at his press conference on Tuesday.
He said Mr. Rawlings' assertion that Ghanaians are being emasculated by the NPP government was unjustified.
Speaking on Joy FM's Super Morning Show, Mr. Agyepong said, “He Rawlings had private television and radio stations focussed on him and he ventilated his views”.
He said when Mr. Rawlings was in office he never invited the private media to the Castle.
“For 20 years he never held a single press conference”.
Mr. Agyepong stressed that the former president's true character was shown when he failed to admit questions at his press conference.
“Rawlings spoke about business, a president at the time who stood on platforms and condemned business people and closed down businesses cannot today be talking about president Kufuor not helping businesses” he said.
The former president in a Republic Day address at his Ridge residence accused the government of masterminding the killing of Ya Na and his subjects in attempt to cow Ghanaians into subjugation.
But the failed presidential aspirant of the NPP said Mr. Rawlings' commentary on the murder of the Ya Na was most unfortunate.
“He was at the helm of affairs when over 4, 000 people were killed during the Konkomba-Nanumba war.”
He asked how many people were prosecuted.
“If there is something that he knows that we don't know, he should let us” have the information so that the people involved can be prosecuted.
“This kind of propagandist way of doing things” will not be tolerated.
“Those who have supervised the worst atrocities in the past are not the ones who will come and sit on platforms and pontificate. That one we will challenge it” he charged.
Mr. Agyepong claimed the former president feels responsible for Tsatsu Tsikata's incarceration.
He accused him of instructing Mr. Tsikata to take the decisions for which the former GNPC boss was tried and jailed.
The Aide to the ex-president, Mr. Kofi Adams accused the government of being irresponsible having failed to prosecute the killers of Ya Na.
He said the killers of the three High Court Judges were tried and punished according to the law.
Mr. Adams defended everything his boss said at the Tuesday press briefing which has been christened Republic Day boom.
