Kufuor And Cabinet Gather To Review Policies
President John Agyekum Kufuor and members of his Cabinet yesterday gathered at Akosombo in the Eastern Region for a two-day special retreat to map out strategies to consolidate the Government's socio-economic gains as he nears the completion of his two terms of government.
They are carrying out a major review of policies and programmes to determine those that could be completed and those to be carried over into the next administration. Energy and water are among the key issues that would engage considerable attention on the agenda.
Vice President Aliu Mahama, Regional Ministers and Directors in the Civil Service are also among those who are attending.
President Kufuor in brief remarks before settling down for serious business reiterated the Government's resolve to work hard and end his administration on a high note. He was confident that they would come out from the retreat more re-energised, saying; 'we want to finish hard.'
President Kufuor said by bringing in the Civil Servants, the ground was being prepared for smooth transfer of power and programmes.
