Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused the driver responsible for a train accident of being a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

During an interview on Okay FM's ‘Ade Akye Abia’ morning show, Nana B asserted that the crash of a newly acquired train into a parked KIA truck was a deliberate act carried out by an NDC member to tarnish the government's image.

Challenged by the host to provide evidence supporting his allegations, Nana B maintained that the convicted driver, identified as Abel Dzidotor, is affiliated with the NDC, claiming he is a card-bearing opposition member in the constituency.

"I am telling you that he is NDC; we also have people there…he is a true NDC member with a party card in that constituency... If you look at the way the car was parked it was very deliberate.

“Do you think it is okay for the NDC to do that? Such an evil mindset that a new train has arrived and for the government to receive praise, you would cause its destruction," Nana B expressed.

Nana B stressed, "The NDC is typically full of evil mindset. You listen to how happy they sound on social media.

“Even former President John Dramani Mahama, who is supposed to condemn such conduct, was saying he would be asking questions if he were to be the president. He is not concerned about the person who caused the incident.”

Meanwhile, Abel Dzidotor, sentenced by the court to six months' imprisonment with hard labour, admitted to several charges related to the accident, including inconsiderate driving and causing unlawful damage.

However, he contested a charge of failing to produce a driver's licence, claiming it was inside the damaged vehicle.

Following Dzidotor's arrest by the Ghana Police Service, preliminary investigations revealed that the collision occurred during a test run of a newly imported train from Poland on the Tema-Mpakadan railway line.

Dzidotor had allegedly left his Hyundai truck unattended on the railway tracks, resulting in the collision.

The incident transpired on April 18.
