The Agona West Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mrs. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey has explained that the 24-hour economy policy being proposed by the party's Flagbearer former President John Dramani Mahama would create more jobs to reduce the high level of unemployment rate in the country.

According to her, the present economic crisis facing the country results from the high rate of unemployment among the teeming youth who have become dependent on their parents and relatives.

"If given the nod at the December 7th General Elections, the NDC regime will implement the 24-hour economy policy which would pave way for more jobs to be created, this is because the job market would be expanded to offer job opportunities for people to be self-sufficient.

"Every sector of the economy would be expanded to enable people to work on shift system unlike the present system where workers have chocked on the job market due to lack of vacancies for employment.

"The 24-hour economy policy would be the best policy for the country and we must all support this laudable policy to become a reality," she stated.

Mrs. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey disclosed this when the Agona West constituency branch of the NDC held a Fancy Dress popularly known as Masquerade or 'Kakamoto' Carnival through the principal streets of Agona Swedru last Saturday as part of activities to celebrate the Easter festivities.

The NDC parliamentary candidate therefore called on Ghanaians both home and abroad to rally firmly behind the party in its quest to win the forthcoming Parliamentary and Presidential Elections.

Explaining the motive behind the Fancy Dress Carnival, Mr Ernestina Ofori Dangbey noted that if given the nod to become the Member of Parliament for Agona West constituency, she would use fancy dress to improve the tourism industry in all the communities within the constituency to boost the local economy.

In a related development, the NDC has outdoored a 261-member working committee to spearhead victory for the party come December 7.
