Elon Musk, owner of 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), has accused Meta of falsely attributing sales to its platforms that actually originated from 𝕏.
Musk made the claim in a post on Friday, March 29.
His comment is in reaction to a $7 billion lawsuit filed against Meta by Facebook and Instagram advertisers.
The advertisers accuse Meta of inflating ad viewership metrics on its platforms by as much as 400 percent.
In the post, Musk said "Meta was also falsely claiming credit for sales that actually originated from X."
Meta is a multinational technology conglomerate headquartered in Menlo Park, California.
The company is the owner and operator of various popular products and services such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp.
Meta is one of the largest American information technology companies, along with other tech giants like Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft.
In 2023, Meta was ranked #31 on the Forbes Global 2000 ranking.
