Rev. Dr. Amishaddai Owusu-Amoah, the Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), has been relieved of his duties due to the expiration of his contract.

Taking his place is Julie Essiam, aged 62, who previously held the position of Commissioner at the Support Services Department within GRA. However, it's worth noting that Julie's contract had also expired two years ago upon reaching retirement age.

According to reports from asaaseradio.com, Pearl Darko, currently serving as Deputy Director General in charge of operations at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), will assume the role of Commissioner responsible for the Support Services Division at GRA, succeeding Julie Essiam. Sources within GRA suggest that Julie may face challenges due to concerns about her certification.

Furthermore, it is anticipated that a senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be appointed as the chairman of the new board of directors of GRA, following the resignation of Tony Oteng-Gyasi as Board Chairman, leading to the dissolution of the board.

Additionally, Alhaji Seidu Iddrisu Iddisah, Commissioner of the Customs Division, and Edward Appenteng Gyamerah, Commissioner of the Domestic Tax and Revenue Division, are both expected to be replaced by new appointees due to their reaching statutory retirement age.
