Amin Adam: The IMF Bailout Is Not A Magic Bullet For Promoting Sustainable Growth In Ghana

Feature Article Amin Adam: The IMF Bailout Is Not A Magic Bullet For Promoting Sustainable Growth In Ghana
MAR 18, 2024 LISTEN

In my message to Ghanaians, I want to make it clear that the new finance minister, Amin Adam, is lying when he says that working with the International Monetary Fund will spur sustainable growth in the country. Ghana's current economy is a disaster that can take years to recover, even if the nation depends on the IMF because Africa's development is hampered by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. This article will reveal how the IMF and the World Bank destroy Africa.

Amin Adam shouldn't be so naïve to know it is a deception that the International Monetary Fund will help improve the economy, and fight poverty and hunger in developing countries.

NPP politicians, such as Richard Ahiagba, Mahamudu Bawumia, Akufo Addo, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, and Amin Adam, are professional liars only concerned with maintaining their positions of power. A government that cares will be approachable to the public and punish those involved in corruption since corruption is one of the main crimes that pushes people into poverty and denies them better lives and jobs. However, financial crimes are perpetrated in this administration with impunity.

While the Akufo Addo administration makes every effort to persuade Ghanaians that the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict are to blame for the country's economic collapse, I have also worked to make sure that the more astute Ghanaians realize that the country's already precarious economic situation was made worse by widespread corruption, money laundering, incompetence, and embezzlement that resulted in enormous debt that was unaccountable.

More importantly, on three occasions, a new currency was printed without parliament's approval further weakening the already fragile economy. Bawumia, a self-proclaimed economist, ought to have known better than to take a chance when traversing a precarious bridge over turbulent waters. He collaborated with the governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ernest Addison, Akufo Addo, and Ken Ofori-a-Atta, to commit such serious financial crimes with impunity.

Many people assume that I hate Bawumia because of this financial error, which has ruined Ghana's economy, and I suggest that he is unfit to serve as president after failing as vice president. Since I desire the best for my country, I think it is foolish of me to support a leader who has contributed to a national disaster. That's my guiding idea. Aside from that, I would appreciate it if every Ghanaian tried to find out how many of the promises made by Bawumia and Akufo Addo were kept.

The IMF approves loans to developing nations if they privatize their economies, that is, turn over all or part of their state property to private ownership, and grant unrestricted access to their markets and raw resources to Western firms due to their lack of economic literacy. Many African nations have fallen into this trap, and by the time they grasp the IMF's deceit and guile, it's too late. Despite Africa’s rich resources, many are still living in extreme poverty.

It is a myth that the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Trade Organization are assisting in the fight against hunger and poverty in developing nations, as African politicians have been brainwashed to believe. If they truly want to see Africa grow, they will not take more from it than they give back, and more significantly, they will not allow their envy of the region's hardworking leaders to destroy their economies or assassinate them, as they did with Libya's Muammar Kaddafi.

Amin Adam should instruct his government to handle the current issues and stop attacking John Mahama because his loss of power in 2016 was a crucial historical moment that exposed the reckless, stupid, and corrupt government that has ruled Ghana for over seven years without progress. The NPP can fabricate their accomplishments, including the creation of 2.5 million jobs, yet, their only hope is in Jean Mensa rigging the elections for them, but before God, that will never occur.
