Akufo-Addo and the NPP should leave Ghana in Peace as they came to meet her in 2016

Not only has the governing NPP Party performed abysmally in government so far but the Party also appears to lack ideas, vitality, and integrity now. Here is why.

The current President, Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP Party has been a living contradiction of what he promised to do in opposition and what he has delivered while in government now. This disappointing governance style by President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia indeed vindicated former President Mahama’s genuine efforts to tackle the fundamental developmental challenges head-on but his efforts were unappreciated by the electorates then in 2016.

The erstwhile Mahama government was heavily chastised on corruption, borrowing, and general lack of infrastructural development by the NPP Party, President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia in 2016. Now, what are we experiencing under this very government which promised their way to political power only to deliver so little in government?

Looking at the corruption menace, it has even become worst in the country under this nepotistic and corrupt Akufo-Addo-bawumia-led regime government, evidenced by several corruption scandals such as PDS, BOST contaminated Oil, Agyapa deal scandals, etc. The unenviable accolades of ‘Mother Serpent for Corruption’ and ‘Clearing Agent’ for the current President clearly suggest that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led regime has flatly failed in the corruption fight.

Additionally, the accumulation of national debts through domestic and international borrowing as well as several tax increases by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government has been phenomenally high, which is in sharp contrast to the NPP’s promise of running a government from taxation to production in 2016. Akufo-Addo also claied then that he would protect the public purse, which turned out to be an empty political slogan.

On the issue of incompetence, ‘incompetence’ was the buzzword used by the NPP for former President Mahama then to make Nana Akufo-Addo the 5th President of the 4th Republic of Ghana in 2016. However, the conduct and performance of Dr. Bawumia who championed the ‘incompetent Mahama’ slogan in 2016 have been pathetic to say the least, as this Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led regime exhibited below-average competence. This is obviously not the kind of competent governance that Ghanaians were expecting from the governing NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia.

Therefore, this governing NPP regime led by Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia has miserably failed Ghanaians and the NPP Party as whole now is bereft of ideas, vitality, and integrity to be given to Ghanaians as campaign messages in 2024. In fact, Majority of Ghanaians are fed up with the NPP Party now and they desire to change this current government peacefully. The least President Akufo-Addo and the NPP Party can do is to leave Ghana in peace in 2024 as they came to meet her in peace in 2016.

The only way to get Ghana back on its feet from the mismanagement of the economy and worsening corruption situation in the country is to massively vote out the NPP Party and its Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the coming general elections on December 7, 2024.
