The Not Too Young To Perform (NTYTP), a youth-led nongovernmental organization (NGO) advocating for leadership development, has issued a call to action urging governments at all levels to address the modern challenges facing women in Nigeria.

In a statement released by Comrade James Ezema, the national Executive Coordinator of NTYTP, the organization highlighted the urgent need for governments to address issues such as increasing insecurity, poverty, unemployment, and poor leadership, particularly as they disproportionately affect women and girls.

The NTYTP emphasized the alarming trend of girls being forced into early marriage and prostitution as a means of escaping hardship or ensuring survival. They urged all tiers of government to prioritize good governance and provide adequate security to enable girls to attend school without fear of violence or abduction.

Recognizing the pivotal role of women in national development, the NTYTP stressed the importance of empowering women economically and socially. They emphasized that investing in women's education and well-being ultimately benefits the entire nation by alleviating poverty and deprivation.

Despite the challenges facing women in Nigeria, the NTYTP encouraged women to remain resilient and proactive, knowing that their contributions are invaluable to national progress. Additionally, they called on young people to actively engage in leadership processes to ensure a brighter future for themselves and future generations, emphasizing the importance of exemplary leadership in safeguarding the rights and opportunities of girls and women.

In conclusion, the NTYTP reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the rights and well-being of Nigerian women and urged collective action to address the systemic challenges they face.
