Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has expressed bewilderment over the alleged strained friendship between former President John Dramani Mahama and the former Majority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, which has reportedly resulted in factionalism within the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The reported fallout between the two prominent figures in the NDC has been cited as a cause for a recent violent clash between their respective supporters, raising concerns about internal divisions within the party.

The situation escalated during a party meeting in Tamale, where it was reported that the National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah narrowly escaped assault.

In an interview with NEAT FM's political show, 'Me Man Nti,' Inusah Fuseini says he was not aware of any discord between Mahama and Haruna Iddrisu.

“I don’t know what is between Haruna Iddrisu and John Dramani Mahama. Even the devil himself is not capable of knowing. I simply do not understand what is going on," he stated.

Despite the reported fallout leading to tensions and clashes among supporters, Fuseini noted that he had witnessed signs of a cordial relationship between the two leaders.

He mentioned a recent visit by Mahama to Haruna's house in the North as an example of this seemingly harmonious interaction.

“He [Mahama] called Haruna to tell him he would visit him during his tour in the region. I don’t see anything between John Dramani and Haruna Iddrisu,” he remarked.

In an attempt to dispel the notion of a deep-seated conflict, Fuseini mentioned that Haruna Iddrisu's residence in Bubuashie, a suburb of Accra, was reportedly owned by John Dramani Mahama's father.

"I can say on authority that where Haruna Iddrisu was living in Bubuashie [a suburb of Accra], it belonged to John Dramani Mahama’s father,” he revealed.
