The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) joins the United Nations and the UNRWA agency in Gaza in warning of an impending catastrophe because of the savage Israeli heavy carpet bombardment of Gaza. The shutoff of all access to water, food, and electricity to 2.2 million Palestinians living under complete Israeli siege is a blatant violation of international law, is a war crime and is deeply troubling.

Israel’s attack on health care facilities and killing of emergency aid crew members is condemnable in the strongest words. The cutoff of these essential basic needs is threatening millions of innocent lives especially those in dire need for health care including infants, children, women, and elderly. Cutting off water, food and power is an attempt at genocide.

Peace loving people have been actively rallying against the savage and criminal Israeli attack against Palestinians in Gaza. As a result, threats began through certain social media posts or crank phone calls to intimidate and suppress their voices in support of Palestinians. AHRC salutes Dearborn Police Department and the law enforcement agencies for addressing a serious threat in a social media post that read “Hey! Anyone in the Metro Detroit area want to go to Dearborn & hunt Palestinians?”

AHRC stresses on the importance of law enforcement agencies acting swiftly against any form or shape of threats. AHRC urges vigilance and asks anyone to report any suspicious acts to law enforcement.

AHRC calls upon the Biden administration and the United Nations to compel Israel to agree on a cease-fire for the sake of the innocent civilians who are the ultimate victims of this war.

The international community bears a moral, ethical, and legal responsibility to end this ongoing atrocity and genocide against Palestinian civilians and towns. AHRC urges all peace-loving people to continue to advocate for peace and justice in Palestine.

“Israel’s calling Palestinians ‘human animals’ is blatant and shameless racism,” added Hamad. “Cutting off water, food and electricity on two million people is an attempt at mass murder and should not be allowed,” concluded Hamad.
