Founder of ChrisCares Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in Agona Swedru, Mr. Chris Arthur has encouraged teachers across the country to serve as role models for the children they teach in their various schools.

He noted that serving as role models will help reduce indiscipline not only in their schools but the general public.

Mr. Chris Arthur has therefore admonished teachers against acts which go contrary to the code of ethics of the Ghana Education Service which expects every teacher to exhibit a good moral attitude wherever they find themselves.

He noted that teaching is a noble profession teachers should live lives worthy of emulation to the children they teach and the society in general.

Mr. Chris Arthur who doubles as the Director of Technical Services of the Youth Employment Agency said this during the 15th Anniversary and Graduation ceremony of Great Olertey Academy at Agona Swedru recently.

He lauded the authorities of the school for the good work done and encouraged them to maintain the success chalked.

"This school is closer to the Mandela Market so it is a big relief to traders because they know the capability of teachers in the school and are confident that the children would be in safe hands to enable them transact their businesses with ease.

"Am overwhelmed by the way and manner two teachers in this school, Madam Wilhelmina Issah and Madam Mary Danjumah comported themselves even when parents hauled insult at them for failing to include her child during a cultural dance by Kindergarten pupils as part of the graduation ceremony.

"In spite of all odds, these teachers were still focused on what they have been assigned to do to make the programme colourful and they succeeded in doing same instead of responding to the parent.

"They really showed self-control and maturity during the programme in spite of some extreme provocation by a parent against them. This attitude is worthy of emulation. Parents must know that those who are training our children in school are given the maximum support and respect but not to abuse them," Mr. Chris Arthur noted.

The Headteacher of Great Olertey Academy, Rev. Emmanuel Ayeh disclosed that the school with a population of over 400 was established to supplement the government's effort to ensure quality education for children of school-going age.

Mr. Chris Arthur on behalf of ChrisCares Foundation presented 200 exercise books to the school authorities and also made cash donated of Ghc500.00 each to Madam Wilhelmina Issah and Madam Mary Danjumah for exhibiting high moral values.
