African leaders disgrace their people

African leaders disgrace their people

The cocoa boycott from 1934-38 when UK-based company Cadbury formed a cartel against the cocoa-producing countries Ghana and Ivory Coast to determine the price of cocoa but they refused to supply the buyers (it took the intervention of the UK government to end the boycott) was a powerful demonstration that Africa is not weak when taking the right steps.

Dr. Kwame Nkrumah built silos in Tema to store cocoa when prices were low to wait for a change. In 1965 with the help of a German (Hamburg) expert Joachim Burmeister constructed CPC Ltd. in Tema. The company is bankrupt but kept alive by annual subsidies from the taxpayers due to mismanagement. Around 70-80% of the world's cocoa comes from Ivory Coast and Ghana. Profit is made in this industry from trading and manufacturing, not farming. Raw cocoa is subject to price speculation on the international stock exchanges. When both main exporters of cocoa decide only to allow finished products to be exported the quality of chocolates would increase and the prices affordable for Africans and lower in the rest of the world while cocoa farmers have a good income no mercy needed.

Since independence, it has been the full responsibility of African leaders and citizens to protect their interests and refuse any unwanted interference. If they still see themselves as victims of the white man they will be treated accordingly. If they know what power Africa has been given and face the world with a changed mindset of self-esteem and confidence the fortune of Africa will be seen in each other citizen's life.

When white leaders kill good African leaders like Thomas Sankara they know that they can only kill a certain number of them and not in a row in one country or across the African continent. This means especially since independence Africa itself has to produce more heroes like Sankara or Nkrumah which is their original mandate not the mandate of outside forces that want to exploit Africa and keep it down to avoid having to deal with it as an equal partner on the international stage.

The best time is now. European countries realized that the boomerang once sent out hit them badly. Illegal migrants from Africa in more numbers coming to them start to harm their political system and finances. The UK has paid in the last twelve months £ 4 Billion for refugees in their country. What is Africa waiting for? The new colonialism masters through the backdoor China and Russia are not the solution but the tombstone of African independence.

Unlike the UK, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and Denmark France still behaves like a colonial powerhouse visible in the coups of Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Niger as much as by the simple fact that all mobile calls from francophone countries in Africa first arrive in France before the local numbers in e.g. Togo and Guinea ring.

Whether or not the military coups as an interim stage will bring about the freedom of Africa to the people must be seen. Military leaders are not political experts or visionary people. The people of the African continent must fundamentally change their mindset and liberate themselves from a slave trade mentality rather than stand tall. No one else will do it for them!
