NDC Holland Chapters Thanks Their Presidential Candidate, National Executives and Their Diaspora Chapters Counterparts
14 JUN 2023 LISTEN

NDC Holland Chapter hosted a 3-Day Conference in Amsterdam between 9th and 11th June 2023. The conference with the theme: "The Role of NDC in Diaspora Towards The Victory of 2024" saw more than 15 countries of NDC Chapters converging at the capital of The Netherlands. This historical event and the first of its kind in the history of NDC was graced by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, as the Special Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were the General Secretary, Honourable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey and lots of other national executives. Qualitatively if not quantitatively, the 3-day conference was one of the successful conferences ever held in Diaspora. The Holland Chapter has set the pace for the next diaspora conference, and I hope other diaspora chapters will emulate our example.

On behalf of our Chapter Executives, the Branch Executives and Members, I would like to thank our Presidential Candidate and the Leader of our party, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, for honouring our invitation. His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama is the first NDC Presidential Candidate ever to have visited The Netherlands. Despite his tight schedules, he proved our sceptics wrong and demonstrated to us that he has what it takes to be a good leader and an aspirimg President of Ghana. NDC Holland Chapter and European Chapters are grateful for his spectacular performance in Amsterdam. Together with our diaspora chapters, we will support our party, both financial and logistics, to wrestle power from the inept, corrupt, scandalous and nepotistic NPP regime. We will make sure that His Excellency John Mahama becomes the next President of Ghana on 7 January 2025.

I also thank our General Secretary, Honourable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey; and Honourable Alex Segbefia, Director of IRD, who were in town a day ahead of the programme to assist us during the final arrangements. We thank the two for the wonderful job they did throughout the programme. We also thank Dr. Karl-Mark Arhin, Deputy Director, IRD; Dr. Carlos Ahenkora; Mr. Felix Kwakye Fosu; Mr. Stan Dogbe and all the entourage who traveled all the way from Accra to grace this occasion.

We were overwhelmed by certain personalities who were invited at the last-minute during the Fundraising Dinner and yet they did not let us down. It is upon this that I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Abeiku White; the Chairlady; and the Vice- Chairlady, Ms. Gifty Wadieh, who on that short notice contributed generously to support our fundraising event. I also thank other contributors who made the event more interesting.

I would also like to thank our German counterparts who helped us in planning the conference right from day one when we had the nod. We thank their Chapter Executives and all their members. We hope to reciprocate this gesture somewhere next year, all things being equal. “Vielen danke, kameraden.” We also thank our Belgium Chapter, UK/Ireland Chapter,

Switzerland Chapter, France Chapter, Italy Chapter, Austria Chapter, USA Chapter, Spain Chapter, and all other Chapters. Their participating and contribution will go down on records. And we will be more than ready to assist them whenever they need us.

I also thank all the media houses, from Germany and The Netherlands, who made this conference, trend across the globe. Our sincere thanks go to the traditional Chiefs, Queens, Moslem and Ewe Communities who honoured our invitation. I also thank all NDC members back home in Ghana, who also publicised our conference on their various platforms and media.

Finally, I thank the companies who supported us financially. Many thanks to our Executives, our Planning Committee, MCs, patrons and past executives, and Ghanaian folks in The Netherlands. I thank you all, and may God replenish whatever you spent on us.

Long live NDC Long live Ghana Eye zu, eye za.

Signed
Lewis Kwame Addo Communications Officer NDC Holland Chapter Amsterdam.
