NDC Primaries: Armah-Kofi Buah goes unopposed in Ellembelle
31.03.2023 LISTEN

The opposition Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has been given the green-light to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) unopposed.

The main contender, Dr. Clement C. Blay, who was in the race, unexpectedly threw in the towel and openly declared his support for the experienced Ellembelle MP to contest the seat on the ticket of the NDC for the 5th time as a lawmaker.

The endorsement of the MP in the presence of former President John Dramani Mahama, immediately attracted rapturous applause from delegates of the party who had gathered at Kanokware, a cocoa farming community in the Ellembelle Constituency to engage the former President who was in Western Region for three day campaign tour.

Former President John Dramani Mahama, who was obviously elated witnessing the sense of camaraderie described the gesture as significant in building cohesion in the NDC.

He used the platform to commend Dr. Clement C. Blay for living above reproach and showing political maturity in the overall interest of NDC.

This selfless gesture, he assured, has earned the gentleman a place in his future government, once he secures the nod of delegates to represent the party in the general elections as the flag bearer, and subsequently wining the elections to become President of Ghana once again.

The former Minister for Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, thanked Dr. Clement C. Blay for the endorsement and putting his personal ambition on hold with an assurance to play a part in the overall political process required to maintain the Ellembelle seat.

Meanwhile Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has expressed his disappointment in government for abandoning all oil enclave road projects initiated by the administration of President John Dramani Mahama.

The former Minister, now Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament says, but, for the oil enclave roads initiative, many communities within Nzema would not have had their fare share of the national cake in terms of roadnetwoks tarred across the country.

His message, had formed part of the numerous campaign messages and activities put together for members of NDC to rally behind former President John Dramani Mahama, for the flag bearership contest in the party.

Armah Kofi Buah subsequently endorsed President Mahama and assured him of victory during the NDC May 13 internal contest

The MP for Ellembelle acknowledged the visible contribution of former President John Dramani Mahama to all the massive developments in Nzema.

Whilst commending the former President, he revealed that most of the projects, he initiated in the area, which were at various stages of completion, have all been abandoned subsequently following the resumption of office by the current administration.

He told former President John Dramani Mahama that most development projects being enjoyed by the people of Nzema especially in Ellembelle, were orchestrated and craftly carried out by his administration

A cogent reason, he underscored, that certainly makes him (the former President) and the NDC, the saviors in the Nzema area.
