The Central Regional Presbyter of the United Pentecostal Church International, Rev. Alexander Quarm has tasked Christians and Ghanaians in general to be law-abiding and support government in its quest to improve quality of lives of the citizenry.

In a Christmas message to the members of the Agona Swedru branch of the United Pentecostal Church International, Rev. Alexander Quarm noted that it was obligatory for Christians to follow strictly the laws of the land and abide by them accordingly.

"As Christians and Ghanaians at large, we must do things that promote the development of the country but not to engage in atrocities contrary to the laws of the land. We must support government to succeed in its endeavour, we shouldn't be self-destructive as we go along with our daily activities

"While urging the citizenry to be law abiding citizens. I also want to urge the government and its agencies to cut down waste from the system by ensuring that Ghanaians get exactly what they ought to benefit from the government. We can't pay exorbitant taxes only to receive poor services from the government and its agencies," he stated.

On the 'see something, say something' campaign, Rev. Alexander Quarm encouraged Ghanaians to be bold enough to expose wrongdoing and suspicious characters in the communities to safeguard the country against terrorists.

"As we celebrate Christmas and New Year festivities, I want to admonish the youth against hard drugs and alcoholic drinks. The youth should desist from anti-social activities but rather concentrate on positive thoughts and prayers focusing on the word of God to build their future career. They should look up to God for divine direction.

"We should also pay our taxes regularly to support government in its endeavour to improve the quality lives of the people and above all, as Christians, we must support individual growth and development," Rev. Alexander Quarm stressed.

In a related development, the General Overseer of Christ Abiding Ministries International, Apostle Obed Kwadjo Donkor Ahenafo also cautioned Christians against going back to their old ways as they enter a new year.

Preaching on the topic 'Don't go back to Herod' as captured in the Holy Bible to mark the Birth of Jesus Christ at Agona Swedru last Sunday, Apostle Ahenafo called on Christians to use Christmas to turn away from their old ways that were contrary to the teachings of the Bible.

According to him, Ghana could be a better place if Christians who are in the majority live upright. "After the Wise Men had gone to worship the newly born baby (Jesus Christ) in the manger, they were told not to go back to Herod because of his evil intentions to kill Jesus. In the same manner, Christians should be guided by these biblical teachings to turn away from things that goes against them," he noted.

Apostle Obed Ahenafo therefore encouraged Christians to live exemplary lives worthy of emulation.
