COVID-19 CAP BuSS Supports Businesses In All 16 Regions

Data available indicates that so far, about 1,000 businesses in all 16 regions of the country have received support through the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme Business Support Scheme (CAP BuSS).

The support which was initiated by the government in May 2020 to support businesses that have been badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and distributed by the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) has reached all corners of the country in its disbursement.

In total, about 237,518 businesses have so far benefited from the government’s stimulus package under the CAP BuSS of which 185,000 of them are in the microeconomic sector.

Below is a regional breakdown of beneficiaries:

  1. Ashanti Region – 52, 182
  2. Greater Accra Region – 40, 549
  3. Eastern Region – 33, 614
  4. Central Region – 25, 497
  5. Western Region – 17, 928
  6. Northern Region – 10, 994
  7. Volta Region – 10, 558
  8. Western North Region – 7, 912
  9. Bono Region – 7, 512
  10. Upper East Region – 7, 290
  11. Ahafo Region – 5, 450
  12. Bono East Region – 5, 342
  13. Savannah Region – 3, 833
  14. Upper West Region- 2, 826
  15. Oti Region – 2, 242
  16. North East Region – 1, 451

NBSSI continues to support businesses badly hit by the Covid-19. Last week, application for the Nkosuo program, introduced by NBSSI in partnership with MasterCard Foundation came to a successful end recording over 400,000 applications.
