Over the weekend the NPP UK Youth Wing, led by Richard Gyamfi, NPP UK Youth Organiser, donated 3,800 branded T-shirts to the NPP Youth Wing to support the ruling New Patriotic Party’s campaign towards election 2020. The UK Youth Wing also presented 3000 NPP branded souvenirs with 17,000 on its way to the motherland.
In his remark, Mr Richard Gyamfi showed immense gratitude to the UK Youth Wing, TESCON UK and the entire UK Branch for supporting the T-Shirt project amidst Covid -19 pandemic and its economic implications. Although COVID affected majority of UK Branch members, economically, yet the donations received exceeded an initial target of 2000 to a whopping 3800 t shirts.
The UK Youth Organiser also commended the Youth Wing’s Patron, Mr Andy Owusu, who has donated 20,000 NPP branded souvenirs to assist the Youth’s streets and door to door campaign.
Receiving the items on behalf of the NPP campaign team and the National Youth Wing, the National Youth Organiser, Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye, Nana B, expressed his sincere gratitude towards this gesture and assured the UK Youth Wing that the donated items would be strategically disbursed to get its optimum benefit. Nana B also encouraged other external Branches to emulate what the NPP UK have demonstrated to assist the 2020 extraordinary campaign.
Mr Attafuah-Danso, Director of International Affairs NPP, re-echoed the NYO’s submission and emphasised the vital role diaspora branches play in elections such as this one. Mr Attafuah-Danso mentioned that some diaspora branches have contacted the party to donate needed Logistics to support this year’s campaign. He stated that what made this donation unique was the fact that it was coming from a Youth Wing of an external Branch.
The handing over ceremony, held at the NPP Campaign office at Kokomlemle in Accra, was attended by the NPP UK Branch Chairman, Mr Kwaku Nkansah, Branch Organiser, Kwame Boateng, NPP UK Youth and TESCON UK members currently in Ghana.
Other dignitaries include, Mr Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, MD State Housing Company, Kofi Tonto, Head of Information-Ghana Embassy, Maryland USA, Deputy Regional Organiser, Jeff Kassim, Nana Yaw Asafo-Adjei, Youth Wing Administrator and George Kwarteng, Head of Events and Programmes National Youth Wing.
