NDC Adentan Hails Constituents For Massive Voter Registration Turnout
12.08.2020 LISTEN

The Adentan Constituency Executive Committee of the NDC is expressing its heartfelt gratitude to the good people of Adentan Constituency for their massive turn out in all registration centers to partake in the just ended 2020 voter’s registration exercise organized by the Electoral Commission.

During the current voter’s registration process, a total number of 151,000+ people in the Adentan constituency were registered as compared to 110,000+ people who registered in the 2012 mass registration and 2019 (limited) registration exercise. In light of this, there has been an upsurge of over 40,000 new registrants in the new register – a proof of the willingness of the constituents to exercise their constitutional right in Dec 7 elections.

This, according to the Constituency Executives, shows proof of the hard work and dedication by the branch executives, Assembly members, prompters and benevolent personalities who came forward to mobilize & assist both financially and materially during the registration exercise.

The Constituency Executives further touted the outstanding efforts and role played by the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency, *Mohammed Adamu Ramadan*, as he made funds available for the exercise and toured all the registration centers to support and encourage a peaceful registration exercise.

According to the Executives, “the number of people registered shows that the good people of Adentan constituency are yearning for change, a change that will bring infrastructure and a change that will reduce the overburdened hardships on Ghanaians.”

Whilst there were some people who couldn't finish the process on the last day of the mop up of the registration exercise, The Constituency Executives are in talks with the District Electoral Officer to seek advice from the Head Office of the Commissioners on how to deal with those who couldn't finish the process. At the close of registration on Sunday, there were people in queue who had filled out forms but could not be captured by the BVR machines when the deadline reached.

APPRECIATION FOR YOUR REMARKABLE CONTRIBUTION IN THE 2020 VOTER'S REGISTRATION EXERCISE

The Adentan Constituency Executive Committee would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to all constituents who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in the just ended voter registration exercise.

To the branch executives, Assembly members, prompters and benevolent personalities who came forward to mobilize & assist both financially and materially during the registration exercise, we say a big thank you!

We couldn't have succeeded without the financial support, sacrifices & vigilance of all especially our agents who spent sleepless nights at the registration centers to get things done.

A chunk of appreciation also goes to our hard working Constituency Executive Committee and Ward Coordinators who coordinated the activities of the wards, the mobilization and operations team and those who were in charge of cooking and distributing food and our former appointees who contributed in diverse ways.

We thank our indefatigable Parliamentary Candidate Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan for making this activity a successful one despite some minor hitches. May Allah replace every pesewa spent with thousands of blessings. We appreciate his outstanding effort.

The number of people registered shows that the good people of Adentan constituency are yearning for change, a change that will bring infrastructure and a change that will reduce the overburdened hardships on Ghanaians.

The 2012 registration plus the 2019 limited registration gave us a total of over 110,000 but the number has now increased to over 151,000 in the just ended registration which excludes the mop up.

There were some people who couldn't finish the process on the last day of the mop-up therefore the district electoral officer is seeking advice from the Head Office whether to deal with those who couldn't finish the process or not.

Therefore, the exact registrants will not be known now. By next week all issues including those who were challenged will be resolved and then we can get the exact figures. THANKS.
