Ghanaian actress and producer Yvonne Nelson has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to resolve the recent power outages in the country.

In a post on social media on Tuesday, March 12, Yvonne Nelson expressed frustration with the intermittent power cuts, commonly referred to as "Dumsor" in Ghana.

“Mr President, Nana Akufo-Addo DUM SOR is DUM SOR whether it’s for an hour, 12 hours, 24hrs or every day. FIX IT!", she wrote on X.

Her comments come as Ghanaians have been experiencing an increase in power outages in recent times, what many say is a return of the "Dumsor" crisis between 2012 to 2016 under the previous government.

The erratic power cuts took a heavy economic and social toll on the country.

Yvonne Nelson has been a vocal campaigner against Dumsor in the past and was at a point tagged as an anti-Dumsor advocate.

In 2015, she led the #DumsorMustStopDemo, organizing a mass street protest through social media that drew an estimated 2,000 people.

Celebrities and ordinary Ghanaians marched from Legon to the Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout, urging then-President Mahama to resolve the issue.
