Ghana Premier League top scorer Yahaya Mohammed was on target on Sunday afternoon when Aduana Stars posted a 1-0 win over Legon Cities FC at the Tarkwa Akoon Community Park.
The Dormaa-based club went into the Match Week 5 fixture after shockingly losing to Techiman Eleven Wonders in midweek. In the match against the rebranded Wa All Stars club, the Ogya Boys put up an impressive performance to bounce back.
Though the two teams played equally well in the first half, Aduana Stars who played as the home team went on to take the lead on the 45th minute courtesy a strike from in-form Yahaya Mohammed.
Legon Cities FC upped their game in the second half in search of an equalizer to restore parity. Despite making inroads, they could not get break down the defensive setup of the Dormaa-based club.
On the 82nd minute, veteran midfielder Noah Amartey equalized to put the icing on the cake for Aduana Stars who eventually recorded a 2-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.
After scoring on the matchday, Yahaya Mohammed has now taken his tally of goals in the ongoing season to 6. He continues to be the leader on the goal king chart.
