Boxing Day, December 26, 2019, has been scheduled as the day for the ‘Bliss On The Hills’ Bout being put up by Box Office Promotions.

The Bill comes up at Kwahu, Abetifi in the Eastern Region with crack boxers led by cruiserweight boxer, Bastie Samir featuring prominently against Sunday Ajunwa from Nigeria as the top liner.

Other popular boxers featuring are George Ashie aka The Red Tiger, Sherif Quaye, Michael Ansah aka One Bullet, Maxwell Awuku and the rising star, Alfred Lartey.

Addressing the media at the press launch, Alex Ntiamoah Boakye, CEO of Box Office said they want to take boxing to other parts of the nation to create more awareness and interest as well as unearth boxers.

He hinted that there are plans to build a first-class boxing gym at Kwahu, where Ghanaian boxers would go and train to acclimatise with foreign weather, as the area is known for its coldness and hilly landscape which can be ideal for jogging.

He also appealed to corporate Ghana to invest in boxing as the best discipline that has awarded the nation with 10 world champions and some of the most respected referees.

Samuel Aboagye of Kwahu Republic who are partnering Box Office told the journalists, they want to take boxing to a higher level and boast tourism, as the Christmas week would be eventful with entertainment and sports.

Franklin Agyekum of Media Excel expressed that ‘Bliss On The Hill’ 2019 is going to be memorable and urged holiday seekers to choose Kwahu.

Samir Bastie told Yours Truly in an interview that he was excited to fight in Kwahu for the first time and tasked his fans to be there in numbers as it would be a free show.

“I am very hungry for fights and I am very much focused on my dream to win a world title. I believe in myself and my coach, Ofori Asare that we have a mission to fulfil,” he said.

George Ashie also appealed to the government to support boxers, while the 17-year-old Alfred Lamptey assured of another entertaining night in Abetifi.

Sherif Quaye who was beaten by Michael One Bullet Ansah said he is looking for an opportunity to win again as they have all won against each other and are going to face different opponents on the hill.

The press launch took place at The Gym, one of the modern boxing gyms in Accra.
