Management of Ghana Premier League giant, Accra Hearts of Oak has issued a statement to assure its followers that they have not pulled out of the 2019 President Cup as earlier reported in the media.
The Phobians are expected to lock horns with their bitterest rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko for the annual cup as announced by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).
Checks had earlier indicated that the Accra based club had decided not to renew their rivalry with the Porcupine Warriors due to the fact that they recently resumed training after a 5-week break.
In a recent post on the club’s official Twitter handle, however, they have debunked the reports whiles citing that they have not withdrawn from this year’s President Cup.
“The Hearts of Oak Management wishes to inform the general sporting public, especially, the club’s followers that it has not pulled out of the 2019 President Cup match as reported by a section of the media. All such reports should be ignored”, the post read.
Meanwhile, the club is yet to officially communicate their readiness to feature in the cup match to GHALCA.
