Head coach of Ghana U-23 team, Maxwell Konadu says it will be difficult to raise a team for the 2020 CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso if competitive football does not return.

The CAF is yet to announced the dates for the two-legged tie but Konadu is a worried man.

The former Asante Kotoko head coach has been tasked is to monitor the performance of home-based players but the absence of competitive football in the country has been a bother.

”Football is everything. Some of us were born into it so we are worried we don’t play football in the country. Nothing official is going on and it is making our work difficult,” Konadu told the Graphic Sports.

”Nothing is going on from where I sit because no date has been set yet [for the qualifiers] and there is no league going on.”

Konadu was in-charge of the Black Stars B squad which won the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations on home soil.

But before that, he could not qualifier the team for the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco.
