Tema, Oct. 4, GNA - This year's Tema Open Golf Championship, sponsored by Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Buzz GSM, tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course from Saturday, October 30 to Sunday, October 31. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the club told the across the country. More than 150 golfers are expected to compete in the event, which would be played under the rules of the world's golf governing body, the Royal Ancient Golf Club of Scotland and the local rules of Tema Country Golf Club.
Mr Adablanu said about 80 golfers have so far registered for the competition and the number was expected to go up by the close of registration day, October 20. Notable among those registered were Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Alex Fiagomey, John Cobbina and Nana Owusu-Afari, all of Tema. The 72-Hole Professionals category starts on Wednesday, October 27 through to Saturday, Octo0ber 30.
Millicom Ghana Limited is donating 21 trophies plus a cash prize of 15 million cedis for outstanding competitors. Mr Soban Pasha, Managing Director of Millicom Ghana Limited is the special guest of honour.
