Wa, Aug. 3 GNA - The Wa police football team spanked the Wa National Service Personnel (NASPA) football team 4-0 in a friendly football match played at the Wa police park as part of activities marking this year's celebration of the National Service Week. Half time scores were 2-0.

The service personnel started brilliantly making a number of dangerous incursions into their opponent's goal area but their attackers wasted the chances that came their way. Police master dribbler, Constable Ben Amissah put his side ahead in the 23rd minute when he converted a beautiful penalty to put his side in the lead. Spurred on by the early lead, Police head striker, constable Vincent Obeng netted the second goal for his side in the 31st minute with a powerful shot.

On resumption of the second half, the Police increased the scores with their third and fourth goals in the 70th and 75th minutes through Constable Frank Kpeh to overwhelm the Service Personnel.

Addressing the two teams after the match, Mr. George Ankobil, Deputy Upper West Regional Police Commander commended the National Service Personnel for organizing a successful Service Week celebration in the Region. He said that the match between the two institutions would further strengthen the cordial bond of friendship that exists between the Police and members of the public.

Mr. Michael Mbrah, the Regional President of the National Service Personnel thanked the Police Service for honouring the match and for the numerous assistance given them during their service period.
