DOL to expunge Nationals from league Accra, Sept 2, GNA - The Division One League Board is considering expunging Bimbilla based Nanumba Nationals from the Zone 1A of the ongoing division one league following their violation of the rules of the competition.

Mr Douglass Djarbeng, Chairman of the Board who disclosed this to the GNA Sports in an interview, said the club failed to honour a number of matches in the league, which is clear violation of the rules and regulation of the competition hence their impending action. He said the club has failed to report for three matches including home matches leaving visiting teams and match officials stranded at the venue.

Mr Djarbeng said by the rules guiding the competition they must be sent out of the league; hence the board has made recommendations to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the action to be taken. The DOL chairman condemned the attitude of the club and expressed the hope that the GFA will take the appropriate action on them to deter others from engaging in such practices.

Mr. Djarbeng said aside their failure to report for matches the club is among clubs who have lost points as a result of their failure to pay officiating fees before the commencement of the league. He said clubs such as Morin Stars, Shooting Stars and Mighty Rocks paid their officiating fees four weeks after the start of the league while Nationals have still not paid.

Mr Djarbeng said " as a result such clubs were declared losers in their respective matches".

Nanumba Nationals are currently placed at the bottom of zone 1A, having conceded 15 goals without scoring a single goal and with no point.
