DRC ARE STILL FANCIED DR Congo head coach Muntubile Santos has reiterated his team's intentions to avenge defeat against Ghana in Sunday's final of the inaugural African Nations Championship at the Felix Houphouet Boigney Stadium.

The high-flying Leopards were handed a reality check in a 3-0 reverse last Sunday in their final Group B match at the Stade de Prix in Bouake.

DR Congo have been exciting in the competition with a clinical attack force led by dangerman Tresor Mputi.

DRC coach, ex-international Santos, believes his team's defeat has toughened them to pull the victory rag from under Ghana's feet.

"It's a very good match I'm looking forward for.Ghana beating me 3-0 was not easy for me but I believe this match is very difficult for each side," Santos told Ghanasoccernet.

"I believe it was a very difficult one and I am also working very hard for my players and the Ghana players too it was due to fatigue or tiredness that really helped the Ghanaians take-over.

"I believe I have seen the Ghanaians enough and it will be more battle for the two sides," he added.

''  We have a good quality goalkeeper and the first goal-in the 3-0 defeat- that really did not help us but we don't remember the last time we came to the final.

"This one thing that we have been to the final and we are really sure and conscious that we have to take the cup.Nothing is going to stop us from taking it."
