This year's Celebrity Golf Club Captain's Prize Open Championship tees off at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, December 20.
Mr Akwasi Opoku, Competition Secretary of the Celebrity Golf Club, said at Tema on Monday that, the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition is opened to amateur golfers throughout the country.
It is being sponsored by KEK Insurance Brokers Limited.
He said about 100 golfers were expected to participate in the competition which has Handicap 18 and 24 respectively as the entry requirements for the Men and the Ladies.
Mr Opoku said the event would be played in accordance with the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Celebrity Golf Club.
He said the Celebrity team would feature players such as Joe Ohemeng (captain), Joe Ampofo, Martin Osei and Kobina Quansah.
The Achimota team would be led by Bob Evans and includes F.K. Frempong, Richard Whyte, Kofi Addo, Dan Dennis, Paul List, Daniel List and Matthias Dorfe.
Five prizes would be awarded in the Men's event and three in the Ladies segment. There would also be prizes for the 'Longest Drive on Hole 17' and the 'Closest to the pin on Hole 18'
