Mali pull out of Egypt friendly

Mali, Ghana's opponents in Group D of the World Cup qualifiers, have pulled out of a proposed friendly with Egypt scheduled for 19 November.

The pair were due to clash on the FIFA date, but Mali have reportedly changed their mind after drawing Sudan, Benin and Ghana in their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Eagles will try and arrange a game against West African opposition instead to prepare them adequately to face the Black Stars and the Panthers.

Mali already know their Sudanese opponents as they played the North Africans in the previous qualifiers over two legs.

Egypt say they have offers to face either Morocco or Tanzania instead.
