The Ghana U20 men’s national team, the Black Satellites have secured qualification to the knockout stage of the 13th African Games.

The last round of group games at the ongoing tournament in Accra, Ghana has been played today, Friday, March 15.

At the University of Ghana Stadium, the Ghana U20 men’s national team faced off with the Benin U20 side.

Despite a slow start to the first half, the Black Satellites managed to pick themselves up and equalized in the 34th minute thanks to a strike from Jerry Asare.

Although both national teams would create several chances in the second half, neither side could find the back of the net as the encounter ended with just one goal.

Courtesy of the win, the Ghana U20 men’s national team has topped Group A of the men’s football tournament to reach the semi-final stage.

The Satellites won two games and drew one to finish the group stage with an unbeaten record.

Meanwhile, the Ghana women’s U20 national team is playing the Uganda U20 women’s national team tonight.

Regardless of what happens at full-time, the Black Princesses will play in the semi-finals.
