The 2023 African Games' grand inauguration is set for today, Friday, at 3 pm, hosted at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon, Accra.

In preparation for this momentous occasion, the Local Organizing Committee, alongside representatives of the African Union, paid a respectful visit to President Akufo-Addo on Thursday at Ghana’s esteemed Jubilee House, the nation's seat of governance.

During the visit, they ceremoniously presented the games’ torch to the President, underscoring their appeal for his unwavering support throughout the duration of the games.

Expressing his anticipation for the forthcoming event, President Akufo-Addo emphasized his expectations for the LOC to orchestrate a tournament of unforgettable magnitude that would resonate for generations to come.

In his address, he conveyed gratitude for the collaborative efforts and encouragement extended towards the successful organization of the games thus far, acknowledging the significant dedication invested by all involved parties.

With eager optimism, the President expressed his hopes for a triumphant and well-received event, beneficial not only to Ghana but to the entire African continent.
