Kumasi Asante Kotoko have climbed to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table after a 2-0 win against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
Last Wednesday, the Porcupine Warriors club cruised to a massive 4-0 win against Bechem United when they cleared their outstanding match from the first round of the 2020/2021 league campaign.
Hosting Berekum Chelsea at the Len Clay Sports Stadium today, the Reds led by Portuguese trainer Mariano Barreto have cruised to another delightful win.
On the matchday, young striker Francis Andy Kumi shot Asante Kotoko into the lead in the 27th minute following an impressive performance in the early parts of the match.
With Berekum Chelsea wasting an opportunity from the penalty spot that would have brought them level in the second half, they were made to pay dearly for it when Godfred Asiamah doubled the lead for Asante Kotoko in added time.
Eventually, the game ended 2-0 with the Porcupine Warriors celebrating a 2-0 win that sends them to the top of the Ghana Premier League table at the end of matchday 19:
