The board chairman for Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has revealed that coach Samuel Boadu was monitored for a long time before his appointment this week.

On Monday, March 1, 2021, the board of the Phobians at a short ceremony in Accra unveiled the young coach as the new head coach of the Phobians on the back of days of speculations.

According to Togbe Afede XIV who is board chairman at Hearts of Oak, the club did not haste in the appointment of the new coach after the departure of Serbian tactician Kosta Papic.

Rather, they have had the coach in mind for a while and believe this is the right time to bring him on board.

“Our desire for him did not arise after the departure of Papic, he has been our long-term target, the good news is that Hearts has been his long-term target as well,” Togbe Afede XIV said during the unveiling of coach Samuel Boadu.

Modernghana Sports can confirm that the new coach met his players at the team’s training grounds on Tuesday and is expected to prepare the team for the upcoming match in the Ghana Premier League against WAFA SC on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
