Highly-rated Colorado Rapids defender, Lalas Abubakar has disclosed that his dream is to secure a move to an European club very soon.

Having earned a scholarship from the University of Ghana, Legon to the USA in 2014, the center-back was subsequently drafted by the Major League Soccer (MLS).

Due to his impressive stints with Dayton Flyers, he was eventually signed by MLS outfit Columbus Crew to play top-flight football in the USA.

After steadily developing into one of the best defenders in the MLS, Lalas Abubakar is now eyeing a move to play in Europe.

“Of course when I get the opportunity I will move to Europe. But as you can see the MLS has improved so much this time around. We have top players from Europe who are also playing here”, the 25-year-old said in an interview with Accra 100.5 FM.

He continued, “For me, my dream is to play in Europe and that dream is still there. For now, I have a contract with my MLS team. If there is a team that is interested in signing me they need to come and buy my rights from the MLS. The only thing I need to do now is to stay focused and continue working”.

While he continues to play in the MLS, Lalas Abubakar says the league has developed and he is delighted to be playing for Colorado Rapids.

In 2019, the former Ghana U-20 center-back was named the best defender at Colorado Rapids.
