UCC SRC Message To Students On E-Learning

Education UCC SRC Message To Students On E-Learning
APR 10, 2020 LISTEN

The SRC hopes this message finds all students and your families in good health. The SRC wishes to communicate an important message to all students and request that all students read it carefully and adhere to it.

The SRC has critically analyzed the issues of the online studies and we have followed closely concerns that have been raised by students, most especially, the concerns raised about data bundles to help students to access the University online platform.

The SRC initiated a conversation with the University management to address this issue before the online teaching could begin.

We have all been taken by surprise when the University released the notice of resumption of academic work and further informing students that the steps to register for the online platform will be released on 10th April 2020, meanwhile, all the issues, most especially, provision of internet data bundle to make this new development convenient has not been settled and also how students in remote areas of our country, who through no fault of theirs do not have strong or no internet connections, could access the platform.

The SRC also noticed that no directive was given in relation to Project Work that is being undertaken by mostly final year students as part of the second semester’s grading activities.

The SRC would like to use this medium to give a resounding caution to all students to HALT any form of registration for online studies until further notice, ultimately until the issues that have been brought to the attention of the management of the University are addressed in order not to disadvantage any student who is currently in good standing with the University.

The SRC shall continue to push and promote the interest of students.
