Where Are The Watchmen Of God?

Ezekiel 33:7

“Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me" God has appointed you and I as watchmen for the world in our generation. We are to guard the world against evil and guide it in doing right. This is what God told Ezekiel in the Bible as an example to all of us (Ezek 33:7).

As watchmen of God, we serve as both spiritual and physical supervisors, this means that we deal with issues in the realm of the Spirit in prayer and enforce the righteousness of God on the earth through the exhibition of Goldy acts.

The Problem

In this contemporary world where evil is dominance everywhere, moral degeneration, and wrongful acts, the Watchmen of God are problem solvers. Some common problems associated with today's contemporary world include the following; environmental degradation, noise and air pollution, bribery and corruption, theft, sexual abuse, social injustice, and all sorts of malpractices.

It is important to note that, all the above-mentioned crisis that our world is going through are the works of darkness and the evil one. From the Biblical perspective, darkness is the habitation of the devil and all his cohorts. (Colo 1:13).

The Solution we need.

The solution to every darkness is Light, whenever light appears, darkness disappears (John 1:5). We have already identified that all the evil happenings in the world are the works of darkness, hence there is the need for light to curb them.

Part of the numerous functions of light is the it gives direction. The dark world in which we find ourselves does not know the right way to go about life. In fact, they are utterly lost in darkness and the only way by which they will find light and know the right way is when we(Christians) who have the light arise and direct them. Even now, declare to yourself that "I am The Light of the World and therefore, I give the World direction". So in essence, we believers (The Watchmen) have a great mandate and role in the transformation of our world today.

It looks like the watchmen of God have slumbered a little and that is the cause of all the mess in our world today. You and I are the watchmen of God, let's rise up and take our rightful places of influence to transform our world positively.

Isaiah 60:1-3. “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the lord rises to shine on you. Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the lord rises and appears over you. All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance (NLT).

The negligence of the Watchmen (Christians) is the reason for all the happenings in the world today. Christians are about 71% of the entire population of Ghana, hence we are to be the determinants of affairs. The state of the world today is a wake up call for the Watchmen (Christians).

I encourage all Christians to be agents of transformation by becoming true watchmen of God. Desire to fashion your life in line with God's standards. Never be afraid to speak out when people around you decide to become enemies of God and the country.

As Christians, we are to be the changers of the rules of the game, if Jesus Christ alone could turn His world upside down by changing the order of affairs, then I strongly believe that with determination, you and I can do more.
