Koforidua SecTech Cries For Infrastructure

The Headmaster of Koforidua Secondary Technical School (SECTECH), Mr. Samuel Foli has appealed to the Akufo-Addo government to assist the school with furniture to help improve teaching and learning activities.

According to the headmaster, deficit in infrastructure and ongoing projects which have been abandoned by contractors are negatively affecting the academics of the school.

Mr. Foli made this call during the President’s visit to the school as part of his three-day tour in the Eastern Region.

“May I use this opportunity to make a passionate appeal from the management of the school to government since the Ministry of Education is here. Koforidua Secondary Technical seriously needs furniture for the classrooms and dormitories. If I don't say this my students will not forgive me. The last time the school received furniture from the Ministry was about six years ago. Last year, the management supplied furniture to some schools around but we were left out. We plead on government to consider us on the next consignment,” he said.

The headmaster also called on government to speed up the construction of some dormitory blocks for the school.

“The school also has an uncompleted GETFUND dormitory block which is about 85% complete. We plead with management to bring back the contractor to site,” he appealed.

On his part, the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum also indicated that he will ensure that contractors move back to site to complete the projects.

“I am asking whoever is in charge of the work to make sure they do the right thing for Koforidua Secondary Technical, which is part of our category A schools,” he stated.
