Sunyani (B/A) Dec. 28, GNA - Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani recorded 29 child deliveries during the Christmas festivities. Miss Evelyn Atu-Amoako, senior midwife superintendent, told Ghana News Agency that 25 of the births were spontaneous natural deliveries, while four were caesarean. She said there were one macerated and one fresh stillbirth cases at the labour ward on December 24 and 25 respectively and there were no maternal or child deaths during the deliveries. All the babies and their mothers are doing well, the senior midwife superintendent added.

Miss Atu-Amoako attributed the ward's successful performance to the quality care and dedicated services of the staff, as well as the available modern equipment. She advised pregnant women to visit antenatal clinics to check their health status to avoid complications during childbirth. The senior midwife superintendent said the number of patients increased during the Christmas but the health personnel did their best and attended to all of them, adding, "our client is our first priority".
