Dormaa Police Declares Agyei Solomon Wanted

In the run-up to the last general election, a fight ensued between one Agyei Solomon and Ofori Bernard who belong to two opposing political parties when the NPP had their political rally at the Dormaa Ahenkro Methodist School Park. Some Good Samaritans separated the fight and each went his way.

In the evening, Agyei Solomon met Ofori Benard and engaged him in a fight. In the cause of the fisticuffs, Agyei was alleged to have pulled a bottle containing acid and poured the substance on Ofori who got seriously burnt.

He was rushed to hospital and the case was later reported to the Dormaa police. Sensing danger, Solomon Agyei bolted away from town and has since not been seen. All efforts made by the police to arrest him for the past one year proofed futile.

As pressure was mounted on the Dormaa police to arrest the suspect, the police issued a warrant for his arrest after declaring him wanted.

When this reporter visited the police station after hearing that the suspect has been declared wanted, the Chief Inspector in charge of the police station said it became necessary for Agyei Solomon to be declared wanted after several attempt made through radio announcement for him to report to the police for investigation to commence failed.

He said the issue of people pouring acid on others has become common in the Dormaa Municipality so the police will do everything possible to arrest Agyei and arrange him before court to face the consequences if he is found culpable.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ofori who suffered the acid attack has been discharged form hospital but his face is disfigured.
