Lance Corporal John Andoh, of the Ejisu Police Divisional Headquarters, on Thursday met his untimely death whiles on duty at the Kubease snap check point.
The deceased and his colleagues were in the process of conveying some barricades off the road after close of duty when a pickup vehicle moving towards Kumasi overtook a vehicle and swung into the lane of an oncoming articulator truck.
The driver of the pickup on seeing the articulated truck, veered off the road and in the process run into the police officer crushing him to death.
A Police Officer who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on condition of anonymity, said the driver of the pickup was apprehended and was being prepared for court.
