AFCON 2019 Qualifier: We'll Not Underrate Kenya - Kwesi Appiah
08.09.2018 LISTEN

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has stated that they will go into Saturday's AFCON 2019 qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya with full concentration.

Ghana will play as guests to Kenya on matchday 2 of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Kasarani Stadium.

Kenya will be missing the services of Vice-captain David Owino, striker Jesse Were are also out injured, while defender Brian Mandela and winger Ayub Timbe are suspended.

The coach Kwesi Appiah says that unknown players, given chance, can be a threat than the regular stars hence they will not underrate their opponents.

'In football there is nothing like minnows, coming up with that mentality is like preparing to lose. We are here to give Kenya a good game and go for maximum points. They will be playing at home, and that means they have an advantage because the fans will be behind them,' Appiah told Goal.

The Black Stars will be aiming at getting maximum points against their hosts Kenya, who went down 2-1 away to Sierra Leone in their opener.
