Sekondi, Oct.10, GNA - Sekondi District Magistrate Court "A" on Monday sentenced Mary Tweneboa, a trader at Effiakuma Number One, to 15 months imprisonment in hard labour on her own plea for defrauding. Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Adam Okyere, told the Court that sometime in November last year, the complainant, Samuel Apaw-Tele, a store supervisor resident at East Tanokrom, was looking for a house to rent. He said the complainant approached a witness in the case who introduced him (Apaw-Tele) to the accused.

Police Sergeant Okyere said the accused negotiated with the complainant to sell her house for him at eight million cedis, the complainant paid the money to the accused through the witness. The prosecutor said when the complainant demanded keys to the house, the accused asked for about three months to prepare documents on the house before handing over the keys.

Police Sergeant Okyere said after the three months, the accused went into hiding and the complainant reported the matter to the Police. He said the accused was arrested at her hide-out at Twifo Praso and after investigations charged with the offence.
