By Nwaorgu Faustinus

Nwaorgu Faustinus, online media aide to Chief Eze, the erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New PDP (nPDP) has urged world government to continue with more resilient efforts to safeguard the lives of victims of war, insurgence, conflicts, and aid workers who occasionally put their lives on the line in their duty to provide succor to victims of crises.

The online media aide made the call in a statement relayed to journalists today in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Faustinus who observed that more than half a million children are suffering from hunger which effect is malnutrition as war rages in Yemen, stressed that the situation could result to aggravated state of cholera outbreak in the war-torn country.

“The humanitarian crisis in Yemen, other countries around the world that are experiencing one conflict or the other, and even our dear country – Nigeria is no exception as she grapples with the onslaught of North East Boko Haram insurgence and herdsmen. As pathetic as this situation could be, hundreds of thousands to millions are displaced from their native homes and are afforded temporary accommodation in camps” Faustinus said.

Continuing, he said, “it is not only when there is war that the worse humanitarian crisis is witnessed, there is also where natural disasters such as landslide, earthquake, erosion, flood and disease outbreak call for humanitarian services to be rendered to those who are victims of such crisis or natural disaster.”

“As the world commemorates World Humanitarian Day, on the 19th of August 2018, it behooves humanitarian organization, aid workers and world government to ensure that they contribute meaningfully more than ever before by providing relief materials, and most importantly protection through their military security personnel to those hit by worse humanitarian crisis” Faustinus declared
